Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use the Mahaul app or this website. By creating an account you agree to them, to our Privacy policy and to our Community guidelines. If you don't agree, please don't use Mahaul.
“Mahaul”, “we” and “us” means [Legal entity name and registered address: TODO].
Who can use Mahaul
- You must be 18 or older.
- You need a phone number that's yours.
- One person, one account.
- You can't use Mahaul if we've banned you before.
Mahaul is made for India, and its events and features are India-focused.
Your account
- Give accurate details, including your real date of birth and a first name you actually go by.
- Keep your phone and your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Your @username is unique. You can change it, but not more than once every 7 days. We may take back usernames that impersonate someone or infringe a trademark.
What Mahaul is, and isn't
Mahaul helps you discover electronic music events and meet people going to them. We don't run the events, we don't sell tickets, and we're not part of anything you arrange with other members or organizers.
Event details come from organizers and public sources. They can be wrong, change at short notice, or be marked TBA, so check with the organizer before you go.
We can't check that everyone is who they say they are. Use your judgement, meet new people in public, and read our safety guidelines.
Your content
You own what you post: photos, posts, comments and messages. You give Mahaul a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and share it inside Mahaul as needed to run the service, for example showing your post to your friends.
The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already shared inside Mahaul, or where the law requires us to keep it.
Only post what you have the right to post, and don't post photos of other people without their permission.
Rules
Follow the Community guidelines. In short: no harassment, threats, hate, scams, impersonation, sexual content sent without consent, anything sexual involving minors, drug dealing, or sharing other people's private details or location.
Don't misuse the service: no scraping, bots, fake accounts, reverse engineering, or getting around limits, blocks or safety features.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. There's no place on Mahaul for either. You can block or report anyone from their profile, and report any post, comment, message or event from its menu. A person on our team reviews every report, the most serious first, and we remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules.
Organizers
If you're a verified organizer, these also apply:
- Publish only real events you're entitled to publish, with accurate details.
- Own, or have permission to use, your artwork and photos.
- Use announcements for real updates to your crowd. They're capped per event and per day.
- Follow Indian advertising rules, including the rules on alcohol.
The Official badge is ours to give and to remove. We can suspend an organizer account that misleads people or breaks these terms.
Moderation and enforcement
We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or warn, suspend or ban accounts that break these terms or the guidelines, or when the law requires it. When we act on your account we'll tell you why in the app, unless the law or someone's safety stops us, and you can appeal from Settings → Account standing.
Paid features
Mahaul is free. If we add paid features later, we'll show the price clearly before you pay, and payments will go through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms.
Our name and app
The Mahaul name, logo, app and website belong to us. Don't use them in a way that suggests we endorse you without our written permission.
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Mahaul running and safe, but it's provided “as is”. We don't promise it will always be available or error-free, that event information is accurate, or that other members will behave well. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer law that can't be limited.
Liability
As far as the law allows, Mahaul isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what happens at events or between members. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to ₹1,000 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is higher.
Ending things
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or if we stop offering Mahaul. Parts of these terms that should naturally continue (such as disclaimers, liability and governing law) continue after that.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at [city: TODO] have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to us first; most things get sorted faster that way.
Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms as Mahaul changes. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Mahaul after that, the new terms apply.
